Battlestar Galactica Season 3

Battlestar Galactica season 3 drew to a close last week in America with episode 20 airing on the Sci Fi channel.

BSG has steadily increased it's popularity in recent seasons and is fast becoming a classic sci fi show joining the likes of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, 24 and Firefly.

Crossroads (2) saw several dramatic events hit the human fleet:

First up, Gaius Baltar found himself a free man thanks to an impassioned speech by Lee Adama. Reluctantly taking to the stand Lee delivers a clear message that he does not believe Gaius is guilty of mass genocide as the fleet belives him to be. Lee explanation that Gaius simply did what he could in an impossible situation and a reminder that most of the high ranking officials within the fleet have performed many shady actions but have been let off free of charge.

Tigh, Tyrol, Tory and Anders find themselves wondering whether they are Cylons as they are all haunted by the same surreal tune. They are all drawn to the same room though the voicing of their fears leads most of them to laugh off the possiblity.

The fleet takes a step closer to earth as the reach the Ionian Nebula with no contact with the Cylons. As they jump into the system they suffer a fleetwide power loss for several seconds. Power is restored however they then notice a mass of Cylon activity which has picked them up and is beginning to attack. The power outage means they are unable to jump for several minutes. The attack vipers are scrambled to intercept the incoming Cylon raiders as the human fleet prepares to fight for its life.

Lee gets a shock as he tracks an unidentified object as he rushes into battle. He finds himself flying through an empty part of space away from the main conflict and the unidentified ship pulls alongside him. He sees Starbuck piloting the viper and she informs him over their telecoms that she has found earth and will take him there.

A fourth season of the show was confirmed by Sci Fi channel earlier this year.
