Recent media reports suggest that the new look Neighbours will hit television screens across Australia from the 23rd July 2007.

The revamp comes as Neighbours continues to struggle to maintain viewers in Australia. Attempts in 2005 / 2006 to boost numbers by emulating fellow Aussie soap Home And Away failed to attract new viewers. The problems appeared to intensify as the Ten Network, which broadcasts the soap in Australia, began to make public its unhappiness with the shows performance.

The new look for the show looks to satisfy both critics and established fans, both of whom had been growing increasingly critical of the Home and Away inspired changes during the 2005/2006 seasons of the show.

The planned changes include a move to broadcast the show in high definition, new episode music, a new opening title set and a promise to return to the family orientated roots of the show.
