Neighbours Struggling

The ever increasing number of Australian media reports marking Neighbours as a struggling show continues this week.
The latest speculation even suggests that the show has been considered for an extended break whilst the Neighbours team rework storylines in an effort to shake things. This comes as media outlets begin to mention the possibility of the show being totally cancelled if things are not turned around.
The reasons for Neighbours dramatic decrease in popularity remains unclear though stiff competition from strong line ups by other television networks when Neighbours is on and the strong presence of the other major Australian soap Home And Away are thought to have contributed.
Whilst the media suggests the dated look and feel of the show, fans provide more specific points of fault. The existing shake up, which has seen the show fall into line with the looks before talent and exciting storylines over character development, has failed to impress many.
The current line from the Neighbours team seems to be that they are planning further shake ups in the near future though Neighbours will continue with its existing air schedule.
