So the end of The OC looks to be near as the final few episodes go to air on Fox.
The initial outcry against this cancellation seems to have died down as many have felt the last few episodes of the show have drifted away from the popular style that got so many hooked in the first place. The trend now seems to be a welcome of the ending of the show (before it jumps the shark completely).
It seems the main change is the switch to lighter storylines with little of the drama of the first seasons of The OC. For unknown reasons it also seems that established characters, such as Summer and Sandy and Kristin, are appearing less and less in these episodes with air time being given over to the less popular Taylor and Che.
It's probably unlikely that the writers and directors of the show will let things fade away entirely and they will hopefully be able to shore things up for the final few episodes.
