Sam is imprisoned for the murder of Den Watts. Chrissie seems to be winning though she surprises Sharon by rekindling her romance with Jake Moon and acting very relaxed after the news of Den's murder was announced. Alfie changes his mind and picks Kat Slater over little Mo. Their romance is shatter by a drunken Billy who accidently reveals Alfie's scheming to a packed pub.
