Channel 4's main soap aired every weekday at 6.00pm. Hollyoaks revolves around the city of Chester in the North of England. The show is considered to be very teenage oriented and often deals with light issues however it has had some major storylines and tenders to an every growing audience. Channel Four was formed to pursue new idea's and go where traditional broadcasters, such as the BBC and ITV, were to scared to go in fear of loosing audiences. Hollyoaks plays a part in this with fairly frequent late night episodes which deal with more adult topics and spin off's, both on screen and written have been created.
